What a Friend We Have in Jesus

“What a friend we have in Jesus!”

We all have our besties don’t we? The ones we count on to share our good times and our bad times with. The ones we travel with and share our holidays with. The shoulder to cry on; the hand to high five. But even our bestie isn’t with us 24/7. But Jesus is! And that can be a scary thing! But it’s also such a blessing.

I will say, Jesus holds me accountable and that’s not always pleasant. He doesn’t let me get by with much without gracefully reminding me that He is there. But I’m thankful for that as it humbles me and brings me strength to make things right.

But Jesus also holds me tight. When my bestie’s are away and the lonliness, the grief, the burdens of life beseige me, Jesus is there. In the darkness of the night, His shoulder is there for me to cry on. His hand is there to hold. His heart is there to love on me.

What other friend can offer so much unconditional and unlimited love? The sin, the grief, the pain can all be handed over to the one who knows it all anyway. His shoulder is one of peace. His hand is one of strength. His heart is one of ever present love. If you haven’t made friends with Jesus yet, reach for Him today. He will be the bestest bestie you will ever have.

“I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭139:7-10‬ ‭NLT‬‬
