My Story
Hello World!
I am delighted that you have visited my blog! My name is Susan Dodson and I have always enjoyed writing! Never in my wildest dreams though would I have thought I would be writing about Jesus!
I grew up in church gathering seeds of faith, but never felt I was someone that God could use to share that faith. It wasn’t until my mid – forties that God showed up in a real and tangible way! He was no longer just a God of theology, but a personal and intimate Father who cared about me and my pain. He knew the way of healing my broken heart, and it was not found in the way that I was choosing to go.
I had established an addiction to hide my misery, and even though I was constantly searching for a way out, I was hopeless and helpless to find one. As I began to spend time with my new friend Jesus, He began to heal me, change me, and fill my heart with hope!
In response to my new freedom, instead of focusing on my pain, I began writing devotions of how God was working in my life each day. Jesus was my way out of enslavement, and He assured me that I was worthy to share what He had done. And though I will always struggle with temptation, sin, and insecurity, God is merciful and never leaves me to figure it out on my own. He empowers me and enables me to press on.
The power of the Cross is a mysterious thing. One that is not easily explained except through personal experience. And that is why I write – to celebrate and share my journey of a “Life Intercepted by Grace”.
I pray that sharing my experiences is a blessing to you and that Jesus gets all the glory! Following Jesus does not make me better than anyone else. Following Jesus makes my existence better and He can make yours better too. If you would like to talk more about Jesus and His saving grace, visit my connect page and send me a message.
May Hope and Peace be yours!
Why 12 Words?
On the road to healing, God shared 12 words spoken in a prayer, that resonated in my heart. They were words of hope and encouragement that life was not just about the little box that I had created. Life was about finding purpose in the unlimited opportunities God gives us each day to serve and love and share His Hope. I use 12 Words to summarize the meaning and application of each devotion. As you read these stories, use the 12 words as a point of prayer and reflection of how you can find encouragement to apply these lessons in your own life as well.
